There is one thing we hear from beauty professionals again and again:
“I would love to do more facial treatments, but I just don’t get enough bookings.”
For many beauty professionals, this can feel frustrating. You have the skills, the passion and the desire to perform more facial treatments – but your calendar still has more empty spaces than you would like.
The first thing we want to say is this:
Getting more facial bookings is absolutely possible.
But compared to some other beauty services, facials often require a little more energy and consistency when it comes to marketing.
Facial treatments are slightly different from services such as lash extensions or nail treatments.
Many clients already know when they want their lashes or nails done. With facials, the decision isn’t always as obvious.
A client might notice breakouts, dryness, dullness, sensitivity or signs of ageing – but they may not automatically think:
“I need a professional facial treatment.”
That is why your job isn’t simply to tell people that you offer facial treatments.
You need to show them:
Why would this particular treatment be valuable for them?
If you want more facial bookings, start creating more content that makes the treatment feel concrete and relevant to your potential clients.
Skincare is visual, which makes before-and-after content incredibly valuable.
Don’t just post the image. Tell the story behind it.
For example:
The image gets attention, but the story helps your potential client understand the result.
“Book your facial” isn’t necessarily going to stop someone in the middle of scrolling.
Instead, talk about the result or problem your client actually cares about.
For example:
“Want more glow before your next event?”
“Does your skin constantly feel dry and dull?”
“Struggling with recurring breakouts?”
“Want to start taking better care of your skin but don’t know where to begin?”
When a client recognises themselves in your content, they have a reason to stop and pay attention.
Don’t only tell people what you do.
Tell them what happened to your client.
What was their concern when they came to you? What did you decide to do together? What changes did you see? How did the client feel afterwards?
A good client story makes the treatment feel more relatable and helps other people think:
“I have exactly the same problem.”
One of the most effective ways to market facial treatments is simply to demonstrate that you know what you’re doing.
Talk about things such as:
Not everything needs to be a sales pitch.
Expertise sells.
This is perhaps one of the most important things to remember.
If you only start talking about facial treatments when you notice that next week’s calendar has several empty appointments, your client may not have enough time to become interested, trust you and book.
Marketing your facial treatments should be an ongoing process.
Show your treatments when your calendar is full.
Share your results when you have clients.
Create educational content even when you have no available appointments.
That way, you’re building interest for the next time you have availability.
A few months ago, I hosted an online training called “Fill Your Calendar”, where we went through practical ways to increase demand for treatments and fill your calendar more effectively.
Many of the beauty professionals who joined the training were able to increase their facial bookings immediately by putting the tips from the training into practice. 🤍
